Expert summary
David Baldacci is an American author who is especially well known for his political thrillers. He is a Virginia native who studied political science at Virginia Commonwealth University and later received his law degree from the University of Virginia. He went on to practice law for nine years in the Washington, D.C. Area while writing short fiction and screenplays in his spare time without any great success. He then shifted gears and began working on his first novel, Absolute Power. After three years of writing and two years of contacting publishers the novel hit bookstores in 1996 and became a best seller. Since then David has been a prolific and highly successful author having published seventeen novels as of 2008.
